Lebanese singer Carole Samaha was honored as an icon of art at the DIAFA festival in Dubai. She sang "Childhood" as a message of humanity in light of the events in Palestine. In attendance were a number of celebrities, including Turkish actor Burak Deniz. Samaha also performed the song "The War Will End," delivering an important message calling for an end to violence and hatred in Gaza. The festival honored a large number of stars, including Morrocan artist Saad Lamjarred for his artistic works, and Egyptian actor Amir Karara. The awards ceremony also collected donations for the benefit of children in Gaza.
