The Red Sea International Film Festival has announced the world premiere of "Hogjand" at the opening ceremony of the festival's third edition. The film is directed by Yasser Al-Yasiri, based on the best-selling fantasy novel by Saudi writer Ibrahim Abbas. The story combines elements of Arabic folklore and contemporary themes to create a captivating plot. Produced by Image Nation Abu Dhabi, MBC Studios, and Fox Studios, the film tells the story of a friendly genie called Hogjand who discovers his true royal lineage and embarks on a journey to reclaim his rightful place amidst a battle against the forces of evil. The film stars Saudi actors Bura'a Alam and Nour Khadra, among others. The director, Yasser Al-Yasiri, is an Iraqi filmmaker who has previously directed the acclaimed films "Shabab Sheyab" and "122". The third edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival will take place from November 30 to December 9 and tickets can be purchased via the festival website.
