Bahraini artist Shaima Sabt announced that she would be boycotting the TikTok app in solidarity with the Saudi people due to the mistreatment and closure of their accounts on the platform. Sabt stated on her personal Instagram account that she is awaiting a clarification statement from TikTok's Middle East office regarding the deletion of national content and the suspension of Saudi accounts. She believes that the boycott is not only a duty for Saudis, but also for the Gulf and Arab region. Sabt added that those who oppose Saudi Arabia and Saudis are like those who kick the blessing with their feet, and that Saudi Arabia, its leadership, and its people are a blessing from God that one should be grateful for. Until further notice, Sabt declares that she is boycotting TikTok and its broadcasts.
