Several Gulf celebrities have called for a boycott of the TikTok app, accusing it of deleting positive content related to Saudi Arabia and being biased against the kingdom. The boycott campaign began in Saudi Arabia in late October after Saudi activists complained on social media about their accounts being deleted, especially those promoting national content or supporting the kingdom. Kuwaiti singer Nawal Al-Kuwaiti, expressed her solidarity with Saudi Arabia in a tweet, saying "We do not accept anything that harms our sister, Saudi Arabia, so we support Saudi Arabia sincerely." It remains unclear if the campaign has had a significant impact on TikTok's usage in the region.
