Turki Al-Sheikh, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority in Saudi Arabia, gave a speech during the Riyadh season's "Masterpieces of Beligh Hamdi" event, in which he praised Egyptian artistry and the country's role in producing stars. Al-Sheikh, who was unable to attend the event in person, praised Beligh Hamdi as "a symbol of Arabic music," and expressed his delight at the quality of the musical performances. The family of the late musician Beligh Hamdi was also honored at the event.
