Nicole Kidman stars in a new mini-series adaptation of the 2008 film 'Australia'. The mini-series expands on the epic story of the original film, featuring previously unseen footage and telling a story of love and resistance against the backdrop of World War II in Australia. Kidman's character, Lady Sarah Ashley, travels to 'Faraway Downs' and forms a bond with a cattle breeder (played by Hugh Jackman) and an Aboriginal child named Nullah. Together, they must defend their land from an Australian cattle baron who seeks to take it from them. The mini-series also deals with the negative consequences of World War II on the region and the world. Similar to the original film, Kidman and Jackman's characters are caught in a stormy love affair. The series is set to air in 2022.
