The Tunisian Ministry of Cultural Affairs has canceled the 34th edition of the Carthage Film Festival, which was scheduled to take place from October 28 to November 4, in solidarity with the ongoing events in Palestine and the critical humanitarian situation. Carthage Film Festival is a cinematic festival established in 1966 and is the oldest cinematic festival in Southern countries and the first of three artistic events collectively referred to as the “Carthage Days.” The festival usually includes performances, musical events, and poetry readings. Since 2015, the festival has been held annually, and the most recent edition was held from November 21 to 28, 2015, under the management of Ibrahim Ltaief. The festival's current leadership includes Farid Boughdir as honorary president, Mohamed Damak as general coordinator, and Lamia Gargouri as artistic director and responsible for official competitions. Mohamed Shaluf is responsible for the "Centennial of Tunisian Cinema" event, and Eman Abdelli is the general secretary with Emad Dabbour responsible for external relations.
