8 New Films Now Showing in Saudi Cinemas

The horror film Saw X, starring Tobin Bell, topped the Saudi box office this week with 2.2 million riyals ($597.5k) from 38k tickets sold, according to the General Authority for Audiovisual Media. Saudi cinemas currently offer 38 films, a mix of Arab and foreign releases that generated over 9.8 million riyals ($2.63m) from 179k tickets sold this week. Eight new films premiered in Saudi cinemas including the musical "Sukkar" starring Magda El Roumi, animation "Gold Beak", horror movie "The Exorcist Believer", "The Island", comedy "Dumb Money", "A Very Good Girl", "The Getback", and, finally, the Egyptian comedy "Wizo School". Mohammed Frag's Voy Voy Voy took the second spot with 1.4 million riyals ($375.6k) and over 22.9k tickets sold. Expendables 4 landed in third place with SAR 824.4k ($219.7k) and 14k tickets sold. Jawan came fourth with SAR 663.8k ($177k) and sold 13k tickets. Finally, Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie took fifth place with SAR 546.5k ($145.7k) and 11.4k tickets sold.
