Mohamed Abdo sings at the Folk Song Festival in classic Arabic.

Saudi Arabian singer Mohammed Abdo headlined the first night of the Fos7a Festival, a music festival designed to preserve the Arabic language and heritage. Abdo and fellow performer Lotfi Bouchnak performed a mix of traditional Arabic poetry, songs from Arab heritage, as well as patriotic and folk songs. The festival aims to encourage the use and preservation of proper Arabic language, as well as to showcase the talents of Arab artists. The festival runs until October 20, at the Abu Bakr Salem theatre in Riyadh, and features performances from 12 different singers and artists. Abdo encouraged young talents to read the Quran, confirming that doing so would help to strengthen their command of the Arabic language. The second night of the festival features Tunisian singer Saber Rebaï, along with Syrian artist Assala Nasri.
