"Between the Sands": First Saudi film based on true events supported by NEOM.

Saudi Arabian director Mohammed Al-Atawee's latest film, "Between the Sands", will feature a cast of Saudi Arabian creative talents, including the film's lead, actor Raed Al-Shamrani. The film, which tells the story of a tobacco merchant who becomes engaged in a fight for survival while travelling through Saudi Arabia in 1927, is the first Saudi Arabian film to receive full logistical support from the country's media production sector, as well as financial backing from the Saudi Arabian Film Authority after winning the "Daw" competition. The film will be released in cinemas from 9 November onwards. The Saudi Arabian film industry is rapidly developing, according to Toornolab's production sector director, Wijn Borg, and Neom is aiming to become a regional hub for media content production, encouraging local talent and developing the necessary technical facilities to achieve that goal.
