Ridley Scott criticizes Joker film for this reason.

Director Ridley Scott has criticised the film Joker for its violent content. Scott worked with Joker star Joaquin Phoenix in his upcoming film Napoleon and was inspired by Phoenix's performance in Joker. However, Scott stated that he did not like the way violence was celebrated in the film. He said that Phoenix was "amazing" but he did not necessarily enjoy the film as a whole. Scott has received an R rating for his upcoming film Napoleon due to its graphic content, including scenes of war. The R rating means that anyone under the age of 17 must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian to see the film in cinemas in the US. In the UK, the equivalent rating is 15, which means that anyone under the age of 15 is prohibited from seeing the film in cinemas, even if accompanied by an adult.
