The Alexandria Mediterranean Film Festival for Mediterranean countries has opened with stars such as Elham Shahin and Mohamed Riyad in attendance. The festival will showcase 120 films from 25 countries and pay tribute to actors and directors such as Hanan Motawie, Khaled Zaki, Kostas Ferris and Caroline Cellier. There are several juries for different categories, including the Actor Mohamed Riyad who is heading the short film jury and Shireen who is heading the Egyptian film jury. The festival is held under the auspices of Egypt’s Minister of Culture Dr. Inas Abdel-Dayem and Alexandria Governor Mohamed El-Sherif. It is organized by the Egyptian Association of Cinema Critics and Writers, headed by its board chairman the renowned critic Prince Abaza.
