"Chello" Movie by Turki Al Al-Sheikh Tops Saudi Cinema Revenue

Saudi horror film "Chilwu" has broken box office records in its opening week, becoming the highest-grossing Saudi film at its opening in the history of Saudi cinema. The film, written by Turki Al Al-Sheikh and directed by Daren Lynn Bousman, stars Jeremy Irons and Tobin Bell and tells the story of a cellist whose life is turned upside down after playing an unnatural and terrifying piece of music. The film has been dubbed into seven languages in preparation for its release in cinemas worldwide and on digital platforms, demonstrating Al Al-Sheikh's commitment to promoting Saudi culture and talent on the international stage. The movie is based on a novel that has received critical acclaim for its unique story, compelling characters, and human depth. It was filmed 70% in Saudi Arabia and 30% in Europe, with over 200 Saudi students trained in various aspects of film production to work on the production.
