Death of Artist Najah Salam Mourned by Celebrities

Lebanese artist Najah Salam passed away on Thursday at the age of 92. Her daughter announced the death through her Facebook page. Salam was known for her patriotic songs, including "Ya Aghla Ism Fi Alwujoud Ya Misr" ("The Most Precious Name in Existence, Oh Egypt"). Many Arab stars mourned her, including Marwan Khoury, Miriam Fares, Yara, and Nancy Ajram, among others. Salam's father was the renowned Lebanese artist and author Muhieddine Salam, who taught her the basics of singing. Salam first performed in school events and later became a successful singer, attending concerts in various cities around the Arab world. She also starred in several movies alongside famous actors and actresses, such as Laila Fawzy, Suad Husni, and Kamal El-Shennawy. Salam was known for her patriotic songs, especially "Ya Aghla Ism Fi Alwujoud Ya Misr," which is considered one of the most significant national songs in Egypt. She released numerous albums throughout her career, and many of her songs are still popular in the Arab world today.
