The Chairman of the Saudi Entertainment Authority, Turki Al-Sheikh, has released a teaser promo for the Riyadh Season 2023, which will begin in October of next year. The promo features Egyptian actor Ahmed Ezz alongside footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, showcasing the big name stars set to take part in the season. Ezz will commence filming for the third installment of the “Sons of Rizk” film series in December 2021, an effort that Saudi Arabia’s Entertainment Authority is backing with a budget of around $3 million. The film is set to feature a large number of Arab stars and is directed by Tarek Al-Eryan, with a scheduled debut in 2024. Al-Sheikh has previously praised Ezz for his contributions to Riyadh Season and touring around the Kingdom, as he has been appointed as the ambassador of Riyadh Season in the Middle East along with Ronaldo, who has been selected as the ambassador for the event in Europe. The Sons of Rizk films have achieved tremendous success in Egypt, with the first installment grossing close to EGP 37 million in box office earnings and the second installment setting a record of EGP 104 million, putting it ahead of many other successful Egyptian films.
