Myriam Fares performs at Lebanon's Casino in concert.

Lebanese singer Myriam Fares held a massive charitable concert on 23 September at the Casino du Liban in aid of the Kids First Association, which helps children afflicted with cancer. Fares’ own health crisis had made her more aware of the value of life, said the event’s compère, and her ability to balance global fame with a sense of focus and purpose had earned her the nickname “heroine with insight”. The report concluded that Fares' music had created an atmosphere of joy and positivity among Lebanese concert-goers, and that the singer had been awarded the accolade "Queen of Humanity" by the charity for her extensive work helping children with cancer.
