Egyptian actress Yousra revealed that veteran artist Mervat Amin refused to accept an award at the Gouna Film Festival. Yousra explained that she spoke to Amin about the honour but that the latter refused. According to Yousra, Amin said that she had already lost many friends and that she could understand her own feelings of discomfort with accepting such an award. Amin participated in the last Ramadan season with the series "Change the Mood" alongside other famous stars. The Gouna Film Festival opened its sixth session with the film "60 Pounds" directed by Amr Salama, the first time a short film has been shown at the festival’s opening.
