34th Carthage Film Festival Opening Date.

The 34th edition of the Carthage Film Festival is set to take place from 28 October to 4 November 2023, with a focus on African and Arab films. The festival has chosen to highlight two guest countries, the African and Arab nations, Senegal and Jordan. The Senegalese have been longstanding partners with the festival since its foundation, with the first ever Golden Tanit prize awarded to Ousmane Sembene in 1966 for his debut feature, "La Noire de." The festival will also focus on Jordan's young and promising film industry, which is supported by a new dynamic that reflects the quality of its films. The festival will feature official delegations, screenings, artistic expressions, as well as cultural expressions of the two countries, such as books, publications, music, and fashion. The festival will also include forums, lectures, workshops, and film screenings. The Tunisian festival is known for its support of comedies, realistic dramas, and films that address important issues and philosophies affecting our societies.
