"MTV 2023 Award Winners Announced: Taylor Swift Takes the Lead"

The MTV Video Music Awards for 2023 were presented on Tuesday, with Taylor Swift leading the pack with a total of eight nominations, including Artist of the Year, Video of the Year, and Song of the Year for her successful song "Anti-Hero" for 2022. She won all the categories she was nominated for, which were broadcast on television. Joined by Beyoncé, Doja Cat, Carol G and Minaj, and Shakira as nominees for Artist of the Year, this is the first time since this category was introduced in 2017 that all nominees for Artist of the Year are women. Shakira received the Video Vanguard Award and performed a beautiful medley that included some of the best Afrobeat songs. The ceremony featured performances by Demi Lovato, Shakira, Olivia Rodrigo, Cardi B with Megan Thee Stallion, Diddy, Lil Wayne, Doja Cat, and Full Out Boy, among others.
