The 80th Venice Film Festival came to an end on Saturday, September 10th, with various awards being presented to filmmakers including Jorgos Lanthimos, Peter Sarsgaard, and Kylie Spin, among others. The top prize, the Golden Lion for Best Film, went to Emma Stone’s new film Poor Things. The film also stars co-stars William Dafoe, Mark Ruffalo, and Rami Youssef. In second place, the Silver Lion was awarded to Ryuusuke Hamaguchi's film “There is no evil,” while the award for best director went to Matteo Garrone for Io Capitano. Several prominent American actors could not attend the festival due to a strike by the Screen Actors Guild, which required them not to participate in the tour. However, prominent directors such as David Fincher, Jorgos Lanthimos, Michael Mann, and Richard Linklater attended, along with actors Adam Driver and Jessica Chastain, who had permission to attend the festival.
