Lebanese singer Najwa Karam cancelled her concert in Agadir, Morocco, after a 6.1 magnitude earthquake hit the region. Karam expressed her sympathy and support to all those affected by the earthquake, saying that the safety of the audience and performing crews was her top priority. Karam was in Morocco at the invitation of the Arab Union for Digital Media to participate in the sixth edition of the Rabat International Music Festival. Morocco is an active geological zone that frequently experiences earthquakes, the latest being a 4.5-magnitude quake in January 2019. Karam, a famous Lebanese artist with a wide popularity in the Middle East and among Hollywood celebrities, left supportive messages saying, “My dear people in Morocco, your beloved country has been hit by a powerful earthquake. But the priority is to protect everyone and ensure their safety. I apologize for the cancellation of the concert and rest assured that I am in support of you and your solidarity.”
