Lina Shamamian, a prominent Syrian singer, performed at the 31st edition of the Salah El-Din International Music and Singing Festival in Egypt. Shamamian performed pieces from across her repertoire, including famous Arabic, Egyptian, and Syrian works, and also paid tribute to Egypt for hosting Syrian refugees. Another artist, Nesma Mahgoub, performed her personal work and a selection of English-language hits. In a surprise collaboration, Shamamian and Mahgoub presented a medley of Western songs alongside the festival’s resident cellists, Chello State of Harmony.
