Egyptian actor Ahmed Elawadi has announced that he will be starring in a new film called "Aliskandariya" directed by Khaled Youssef. Elawadi shared photos on his Facebook account of signing the contract with Youssef for the series. "Aliskandariya" was penned by respected writer Osama Anwar Okasha. Elawadi is best known for his roles in "Darb Nar" and "Last Breath" alongside Yasmin Abdelaziz. "Last Breath" follows Salma (Abdelaziz),whose husband, a police officer named Hazem (Fathi Abdulwahab),was killed under mysterious circumstances before her children were kidnapped. She is then faced with some startling revelations about her husband and embarks on a mission to save her children. In "Darb Nar," Elawadi played Jaber Abu Shadid, a man from Sohag who travels to Cairo to rent a shop owned by Maha, a popular girl from Shubra played by Abdelaziz. The two fall in love and face opposition from a sinister businessman who seeks to destroy them. The couple have collaborated on multiple occasions in hit shows such as "Li Aakhir Nafas" and "Elly Maloosh Kbeer."
