"Sea Salt," a Lebanese short film, has been selected to participate in the 78th Venice International Film Festival.

Layla Basmah, a Lebanese filmmaker, is competing in the "Orizzonti" section of the 80th edition of the Venice Film Festival with her short film "Salt of the Sea." This is her first independent film after her graduation film "Adam Basmah Project" reached the semi-finals of the Student Oscars. "Salt of the Sea" is set during a hot summer on the beach of the southern Lebanese city of Tyre. The film follows 17-year-old Nayla, who faces the same dilemma that young Lebanese people face today about leaving the country or staying. She is influenced by the thoughts of two men when making the decision to stay or go, leading to a surprising outcome.
