The 31st International Music and Singing Festival of Salah El-Din Castle was launched in Cairo, Egypt. The festival, organized by the Egyptian Opera House in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, is popular among all social classes interested in classical music and singing. Syrian singer Faya Younan opened the night with some of her popular songs, followed by Egyptian singer Medhat Saleh, who performed a selection of his songs made for famous movies and TV shows. The festival program includes 45 concerts and musical performances until September 7th, and features local and international singers and musicians, such as Ali El Haggar, Hany Shaker, Nada Mustafa, Hisham Abbas, and many others. International participants include Lebanese Walid Toufic, Tunisian Ghalya Benali, and Syrian Lena Chamamyan.
