The Cairo International Drama Festival has announced the winners of its competition, with the Best Play award going to "The Tale of the Cockroach" from Tunisia. Renowned artists in the field of Egyptian television drama were honored at the second Cairo Drama Festival. Among the winners were Tamer Karawan for Best Original Soundtrack for "The Imam's Message," Essam Omar, Taha El Dosoky and Omar Sherif for Best New Actor, Rana Raees, Salma Abu Dheef, and Nancy Salah for Best New Actress, and Samira Abdel Aziz for Best Costume Design for "The Imam's Message." The festival also recognized Mustafa Darwish for his career and contributions to the industry and Tamer Hosni for his overall career. The awards are a recognition of quality in the industry and serve to encourage excellence and innovation. The Cairo Drama Festival is an annual event that recognizes the best works in television drama produced or performed in Egypt in various categories.
