On 10 August, the Saudi Arabian city of Qassim hosted a concert as part of the “Saudi Tour 2023” initiative. The concert, organised by performance management company Benchmark, featured Arab music artist Mai Farouk and the “Koral Rouh Al-Sharq” music ensemble. The performance celebrated traditional Arabic music, with Farouk performing several popular songs, including those by the late Egyptian singer Umm Kulthum. The Saudi Tour 2023 is one of the initiatives of the General Entertainment Authority and the Quality of Life programme, launched in Saudi Arabia as part of efforts to diversify the economy away from a dependency on oil.
