Egyptian cinema is gearing up for a competitive summer season in 2023 with films such as "Bayt al-Rubi" starring Karim Abdel Aziz, "Al-Ba'ba'" starring Amir Karara, "Taj" starring Tamer Hosni, "Mister X" starring Ahmed Fahmi, "Matra7 Matrouh" starring Mahmoud Hemida, "Mar3y el-Brimo" starring Mohamed Henedy, and "3al Zero" starring Mohamed Ramadan, all vying for the top spot. The total box office revenue for films in cinemas yesterday was EGP 2.383m ($146,000),according to cinema distributor Mahmoud El-Defrawy. "Mar3y el-Brimo" has taken the top spot so far, with EGP 801,279 ($49,000) in revenue. The film, directed by Said Hamed and starring Mohamed Henedy, Ghada Adel, Lutfi Labib, and Injy Ali, centers around Mar3y, a trader in watermelons who encounters many comedic scenarios.
