Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has declared himself part of the "Barbie team" after watching a film about the famous doll. The movie, directed by a female director, has become the highest-grossing in history for its director, with earnings of over $1bn worldwide. Warner Bros. reportedly spent $150m on marketing for the film, not including its $145m budget. The marketing campaign involved partnerships with global brands, including Burger King, Puma, Xbox, Primark, Formula1 and Google. The film is due to be released on HBO in September, after being removed from cinemas. In its opening weekend, the film beat Oppenheimer's Atomic Bomb in the box office, grossing $63m to the latter's $26m.
