The Teacher, a film funded by the Doha Film Institute and directed by Farah Nabulsi, is set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.
The movie tells the story of a Palestinian schoolteacher who finds himself struggling to balance his commitment to political resistance with new relationships and his concern for a student. Nabulsi, a British Palestinian filmmaker who has been nominated for an Oscar and won a British Academy Film Award, said the film was more than just a movie and marked a personal journey.
The Discovery section of the festival features 26 films from 25 countries, many of which are international co-productions or are made by emerging filmmakers.
TIFF is one of the world's biggest film festivals, with over 480,000 attendees each year.
