Egyptian actor Ahmed Ezz will receive the Faten Hamama Award for Excellence at the 45th Cairo International Film Festival. The award recognises Ezz's "distinguished career in cinema" and his willingness to explore a variety of genres that have traditionally dominated the box office, according to festival director Amir Ramses. Ezz, whose career began in 1999, has since starred in more than 40 films, with his versatility evident in genres including comedy and drama. In 2022, he starred in the epic action drama Kira & El Gin, which became the highest-grossing film in Egyptian cinema history.
