"Prince Harry and Meghan's Short-Lived Podcast Partnership with Spotify: A Look Back"

"The End of Prince Harry and Meghan's Spotify Podcast Partnership" LONDON - The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan, have ended their multi-year partnership with Spotify after just one series. The Swedish streaming giant announced the partnership in 2020 after the royal couple stepped down from their royal duties and began a new life in California. The deal was reportedly worth up to $20 million. Meghan's "Archetypes" podcast showcased 12 episodes featuring famous figures such as Mariah Carey and Serena Williams. The duchess was named top Entertainment Podcast Host at the Gracie Awards in March. The podcast explored and challenged labels that hold women back. However, in a joint statement, Spotify and the royal couple's company, Archewell Audio, announced they would no longer be producing future series. The statement also mentioned that they were proud of the series produced together. According to the Wall Street Journal, the couple did not meet the productivity benchmarks required to receive the full payout from the deal whose terms were not publicized. Prince Harry and Meghan have signed other lucrative deals since moving to the United States, including a Netflix documentary. Harry's memoir "Spare" also received immense popularity earlier this year, in which he shared details of his strained relationship with his father King Charles and the rest of his family. Despite the end of their partnership with Spotify, the duke and duchess are still pursuing other ventures and opportunities in the entertainment industry.
