Zumrud lives with her family in one of the poorest neighborhoods of Nevşehir and works in a factory owned by the Demirkan family, one of the most powerful and wealthy families. Her mother, Alef, thinks of nothing but marrying her daughters off to a rich man to escape their harsh life. While Zumrud tries to endure her mother’s pressure, she hides from her the marriage proposal made by Mr. Adil, the heir of the Demirkan family. When Alef discovers the truth, she begins using every trick to make the marriage happen, while Zumrud strongly resists because she carries a deep secret that is eating away at her heart and she cannot reveal it.
