He enrolled in the Higher Institute of Theatrical Arts, acting department, and graduated in 1965, after which he was appointed as a...Read more teaching assistant at the institute and joined the The Pocket Theatre, where he performed 9 plays starting from being as extra to taking leading roles such as plays O, Tree Climber, Yasin and Bahia, and Love Under Guard, until the Pocket Theatre was closed, whereupon he appeared in three films; 3 Faces of Love, Wild Flowers, and Convergence. He traveled in 1974 to work in the Gulf and became famous there. He returned to the Egyptian television through the series The Waterwheel Goes Round. Khalil became famous for his roles in the series Ladies of Garden City, and Dialogues of the Morning and Night.
