It was created by the artist Mahmoud Reda with his brother Ali Reda and his wife Farida Fahmy, the lead...Read more dancer, who also took part in the costume design and choreography of the troupe led by orchestra musician Ali Ismail. The Reda Troupe is considered the first private performance troupe. It was nationalized by a republican decision in 1961 and became affiliated with the state. The band performed at the Azbakeya Theater, the Metropole Theater, the 26th of July Theater, the Engineers Syndicate Theater, the Egyptian Opera House, and the Balloon Theater. They presented three films directed by Ali Reda, starring Mahmoud Reda and the troupe, which are The Lottery Ticket Thief (1970),Love in Karnak (1967),and Mid Year Vacation (1962). The troupe performed over three thousands shows at theaters all over the world.
