Basma started working as a broadcaster after graduation on the Nile Variety Channel from 1998 to 2000, then director Sherif Arafa chose her to play a role in the movie The Principal alongside the late comedian Alaa Wali Al-Din, and then she worked in The movie The Ostrich and the Peacock. She's best known for her roles in the films From the Look of an Eye, The Night of the Fall of Baghdad and Marjan Ahmed Marjan.
