Bassem Samra was born and raised in one of the villages in Giza, Egypt. He began his artistic career by starring in the short film Cairo Enlightening its People, by Youssef...Read more Chahine. After that, Director Yousry Nasrallah chose him to participate in the movie Mercedes with Yusra and Zaki Fateen Abdel Wahab. The cooperation continued with Nasrallah in the movie The City. (2000),through which Samra won the Carthage Film Days Award. Samra won the Best Actor Award at the Rotterdam Festival for his role in the movie Basra.
