Red Sea Film Foundation Extends 4th Filmmaking Challenge Application Deadline for 48 Hours.

The Red Sea International Film Foundation has extended the registration deadline for its fourth annual 48 Hour Film Challenge to July 7, 2024. The challenge is open to Saudi and resident Saudi filmmakers between the ages of 18 and 25. It aims to encourage promising talent to step outside the box in their projects, and to discover innovative minds in the world of independent film production. Participants will attend virtual artistic workshops and guidance programmes, including film direction, writing, editing, and production, before embarking on a 48-hour race to produce a movie from concept to final cut. A committee of international directors and filmmakers will judge the contestants, who will have the chance to experience a special stay at the 2025 International Short Film Festival in Clermont-Ferrand, France. The winning films will also be screened at the following year's Red Sea International Film Festival. Interested teams should gather five members and submit their applications according to the guidelines described on the Foundation's website.
