Marwan Hamed is an Egyptian director. He graduated from the High Cinema Institute in 1999, and worked as an assistant director in films by Samir Seif and Sherif Arafa. He directed...Read more several short films, including the award-winning “Lili”, which was screened at many film festivals worldwide and on Arab world television channels. His feature film debut was the 2006 best-seller novel adaptation “Emaret Yacoubian” (Yacoubian Building),which was then the most expensive film to be ever produced in Egyptian cinema history. He followed Yacoubian's success with the moderately successful action film “Ibrahim El Abyad”, and another best-seller adaptation “El Feel El Azraq” (The Blue Elephant),which was his most successful film critically and financially.
