Khaled Mohamed El Nabawy is a theater and film performer that was born in the city of Al Mansoura. He graduated from the Institute for Theatrical Arts in 1989 and has performed in...Read more several theatrical productions, including “Al Bahr Beyidhak Leih”, “Al Ginzeer” and “Kefah Teeba”. He has also performed exceptionally in several television series which include “Bawabat Al Halawany”, “Sharea Al Mawaridy”. Khaled mainly assumed minor characters before Youssif Chahine assigned him leading roles in the films “Al Mohajer”, “Zaman Al Hilm Al Daea”, “Al Hilm Al Moajal”, “Al Maseer”. This followed his success in the short film “Al Qahira Menawara Be Ahlaha”. Khaled worked as an announcer for a Gulf television channel in 2002. His most notable works were those that were directed by Youssif Chahine and it should be noted that he is unique among a generation of performers that were mainly engaged in comedy.

The film follows the story of a mayor named Abdel Razek Al-Sharshabi (Omar Sharif) when his youngest son, Tawfiq (Khaled Al-Nabawi),is asked to enlist. His wife (Safia Al-Omari) refuses to let her son go, so someone suggests that he send someone to impersonate his son to enlist in his place. Indeed, after intimidation and encouragement, he convinces a poor father named Abdul Mawjoud (Ezzat Al-Alayli) to send his Egyptian son (Abdullah Mahmoud) to enlist, even though he is the only one of his mother and father, in exchange for giving him five acres. Indeed, an Egyptian goes to the army in the name of the mayor’s son.
