Nour El Hoda was a Lebanese singer and actress. She was born in Turkey in 1924, and she loved music at an early age due to her Orthodox upbringing. She met Egyptian theater giant...Read more Youssef Wahba during one of his visits to Lebanon, and he was impressed by her talent that he made her sign a 5-year contract with him. She then moved to Cairo with her father, and made her first appearance in the film “Gawhara” (Jewel) in 1943. In her first ten years in Cairo, Nour El Hoda performed and acted in several musical films including: “Magd wa Domoua'” (Glory and Tears),“Shebak Habiby” (My Love's Window),and “Ayza Atgawez” (I Want to Get Married). At this period, Nour worked with a lot of highly achieved Egyptian musicians like Mohamed Abdel Wahab, Riyad El Sonbaty and Mohamed El Qasabgy. She left Egypt after her last film “Hokm Qaraqoush” (Qaraqoush's Reign) in 1953 due to a law passed by the tax authority in Egypt that stated that she could only sing in films, and prevented her from performing live in any concert or venue. She resided in Lebanon till her death in 1998.

The events of the film revolve around the singer (Nour) and her great confusion between (Samir),who loves her with all his heart but does not propose marriage to her, and his rich uncle, who considers her his lover but does not decide to marry her either, but Nour’s life and her Upper Egypt customs and traditions force her to marry and not enter into marriage. In romantic relationships only without marriage, Nour meets a singer (Wahed) and falls in love with him.
