King Donovan was born in New York City, New York, USA on January 25, 1918. He began his artistic career in the theater in the late thirties. In the late forties, he participated in...Read more the film Open Secret (1948), and his films continued, until he presented his last film, Nothing Lasts Forever (1984). Donovan also participated in television productions, such as the series Racket Squad (1952). His last television appearance was in the series The Wide World of Mystery (1975). In 1963, he directed the film Promises..... Promises!, which received great attention as the first film since the introduction of sound into films in Hollywood to feature a famous movie star, Jayne Mansfield, completely nude. In the same year, he directed two episodes of the series Grindl. His other notable work includes Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956), and Playhouse 90 (1957). He died in Hartford, Connecticut, on June 30, 1987 of cancer.
